Fall sure is great time to be in Southern Utah with daytime temperatures in the mid 70’s. With the recent heavy rains in the North Wash area we went looking for a canyon that was dryer, warmer, not muddy and fun.
Miss Piggy, aka Hog4 given its southern facing location was probably the best fit. We found little water, little mud, and a warm and fun canyon.
We hauled some shovels with us thinking we might need to do some road maintenance but the road off highway 276 up to the parking area was in good shape so shovels stayed packed although HC is still advised getting thru some of the washes.
We rappelled four drops. Two of the drops could be down climbed. The second to the last drop is tailor made for a Sand Trap by the way. After taking the crack exit, I prefer it over the rib exit between Hog1 and Hog2. The crack exit is shorter and a nice climb.
Canyoneering partners on this trip included Monica, Derick, Kari, Matt C., Forrest, and Matt M
