By the way, I think it is. Other counties requested that San Juan hold off for a day in hopes of joining them.:2thumbs:

Best case scenario, this sets off a larger discussion about simply returning power to localities. Concentrated power in DC is bad, and that should be the position of a thoughtful left and right. But the left generally wants concentrated power because it is totalitarian by nature.

Wow. San Juan County actually admitting something positive about National Parks and Monuments. I actually agree with them too. Shutting down the parks and monuments is bogus, especially since they collect entrance fees.

I also believe that keeping the parks open would have bipartisan support among the general public.

Closing the parks is just Obama's attempt to apply pressure. It's silly since all the federal employees will eventually get paid unless the government folds completely.

This is all going to eventually blow back on someone big time.

I predict not so much towards those responsible because the Republicans blame the shut down on the the Democrats and the Democrats blame the Republicans. Politicians from both sides are losing face, but it's really the American people who the park shut downs et al are hurting.
