Went out last weekend on Andy Adams Reservoir (http://www.krakenbass.com/category/locations/andy-adams-reservoir/), and had an awesome time. I'm stoked this place is now open to the public. We paddled around on yaks, and there was only one other boat on the place. It was also fun to fish from the yaks, and I wound up catching a bass! That will always make you stoked.
If you can't go very far from home and you live close by on a weekend go out and enjoy the place. You have to acquire walk in access but it is super simple. My blog post has the whole process dialed. Good luck and keep paddling.
