Our group started out on a day that threatened rain and did rain in surrounding areas. On the hike in, we noticed that the mountains were splitting the limited clouds pretty effectively. The whole way through, we would pop up and out whenever we could to make sure that the clouds kept splitting. During the last narrow section, we got a little nervous as it kept going just long enough for us to wonder what may have popped over the mountains. We boogied through there pretty fast and were completely safe as it turned out. The canyon was fantastic filled so full! There were no keeper potholes with that much water in it. We had read that there would be a 33ft rappel. The biggest we found was a 10ft-er that some of us hand lined. All-in-all, a fantastic canyon! Super fun time!

On the way in, we found a "formation" that may have had some effect on the name of the canyon. Ha The women weren't interested in joining our fun photos.

nice wetsuits! :) We did woody about a week ago and used a hook instead of that wood dowel rappel that you guys have pictured. ....we mainly wanted to rap off the hook. :)

Wow. So different when full...

The wood dowel rap is 30 feet when empty.

Great report Matt!
