So, my company is a collection of hard-core bikers (road & trail). 2 weeks ago, the Chairman of the Board approached me and asked if I biked. I responded with "Not since my teens".. 15 minutes later, I had this really light weight, 29inch Uranium Sensor mountain bike sitting at my desk.

Where is a newb to ride when based in South Jordan?

Since I only have ATV gear (shirts/helmets/gloves), what gear do I require?

You only need a helmet and gloves. If you wanna ride real early and beat the heat, hit me up. Corner canyon is the ticket. :ride:

Except the crowds. Go real early.

Actually the crowds are worse early morning in Corner Canyon. I often ride aound 11 and have the place to myself. At 7am the equestrian parking lot is packed this time of year. But it's a big place and I've never had trouble with crowds on the trails once you get away from the TH.

Yes, those Harley Davidson bikes are great in Corner Canyon. I really like how much easier they make the uphill portions of the trail!

Now that you are at your new company, give me a call. I know all of the trails in the Ogden area, but would like to get to know some that are in the Salt Lake Valley.

I took the mountain bike out today with my niece.. Started at the "B" in Bountiful and rode to the top and ran Skyline drive to the peak.. mostly uphill the entire ride.

Hated it.

Temps were only about 73F at the top, but the direct sun cooked my pumpkin pretty well. Exhausted doesn't even come close..

Find yourself some nice singletrack. :lol8: I find that mountain biking sucks when you could be on an ATV or in a truck or Jeep, but on a singletrack trail it can be heaven.

The singletrack is good advice. I hate riding rodes.

Yep, you need some single track in the trees. At least you get a little shade that way. Corner canyon dude! Dirt roads in full exposure are not for mtn bikes. :haha:
