Ahoy the Forum!

Maarten (maarten.1975), my Dutch canyoneering chum and I (a Swiss-resident Brit) will once more be in Zion/Escalante from September 17th-27th: both of us have been 4-5 times before to the area over the past 5 years. In past trips we have descended Keyhole, Pine Creek, Behunin, Mystery, Spry, Echo, Hidden (from the top), Birch Hollow and Das Boot/Subway, a few more than once, so would consider ourselves moderately experienced in technical canyoneering of the Zion variety[1].

As a gentle intro, we are revisiting a few old favourites during the first part of the itinerary (permits reserved for two persons), but have taken an Imlay permit for a party of four for Saturday 21st, hoping for a couple of similarly or more experienced, (friendly and easy-going!?) companions to tag along. i.e.:

17-9 Echo (day), Keyhole (night)
18-9 Behunin
19-9 Spry
20-9 Pine Creek
21-9 Imlay

We are then looking for take off for Buckskin Gulch and/or Escalante on the Sunday, pottering around there for the following days, before getting back to Vegas for the next Friday morning.

I know it's still a while off, but I will be away in France for the next 10 days, and then will be plunged into year-end procedures at work until mid-August. So I thought I'd throw out the invite sooner rather than later :)

Cheers,

Michael.
[1] I also do a fair amount of summer alpine climbing here in Switzerland, as well as winter waterfall ice routes in nearby Cogne/Chamonix. I am also a keen 'andinista', having climbed a few volcanoes last year in Ecuador and recently spent 16 days in the Cordillera Blanca.

Michael I would be very interested if you have room for two.
We both have very similar canyon resumes with added canyons from north wash, the swell and the roost.

I will send you a PM.
