I had some friends ask if I would take them through Englestead a couple weeks ago. Englestead being my favorite canyon I was all too eager. I had a friend that owed me favor so I convinced her to be our sherpa and hike down with us to pull my 300' rope.:haha: In my opinion it's the only way to do Englestead. On the third rappel I found that someone had taken the webbing from the jammed log and made a dead mans anchor. first time I came upon someone elses. they are rather annoying to check I found out. After I dug it out, checked it, and buried it again we rapped of it without incedent. Everything went smoothly I got to rediscover why I love that canyon so much. I dont even like the 300' rappel much but all the rappels are so fun and differs, with a lil awkward starts. This was my 4th time down this canyon and I still love it.
