Over a long weekend, a bunch of us went and had a great time in Moab! There seems to be endless amounts of fun to be had there.

Pleiades was by far my favorite of the trips we did down there. We took nine people through it and started hiking around 3:30pm. We got back to the car at 9:30 with virtually zero light left. The trip through was absolutely amazing! Yes, you can rip us a new one for using double strand, but we didn't have a pull cord among us, so the 200ft rope got some action.

Medieval Chamber was pretty awesome. It's worth the trip, but sure is a short canyon. A couple of us in the group did the simultaneous rappel off the arch. Pretty cool to see done!

Matt, great report!! AWESOME photos!! Both canyons look like a blast!

Good to see that all of the extra gear was necessary in Pleiades, and helped keep you guys warm and safe. I'm even more glad that we didn't try it based on your photos. I would have perished in my 3/2. :cold:

Also, thanks for the update (on the other thread). :2thumbs:

Oh wow, a 3/2 would be horribly cold even with rain gear and maybe even clothes in between somehow. With two people, you would have been moving a lot faster overall, but still, that would be so cold! My suggestion is 8mm with rain gear. If you had four or less people, 6mm would probably work, but only as a minimum. Feet were always in the water and my 5mm did the job but was the only part of me to get a little cold. If my shoes would fit it, I would have worn 7mm.

That canyon was one of my favorites I've ever done. So much different than anything else I've ever experienced! It was like combining all the mountain/alpine hiking I've done and canyoneering into one. Very awesome!

Sweet report! Great pictures of Pleiades in there. We did that last summer (August I think?) with no cold water protection at all. This looks sick, though!
