On 13 April 2013 our group held out our hand and greeted Larry. We brought with us a 110ft rope, 200ft pull cord, about 100ft of webbing and hardware to boot. Conditions this day were a little less than ideal... On the cold side when in the water and windy in the sandy wide open areas, exit but nothing to really complain about. In general we found plenty of water to play in, deepest was belly button deep. There were a couple of potholes we were able to stem over and whose depth were unknown. This canyon has so many interesting attributes including narrow walls, wading, wide subway sections, stemming, beautiful sandstone layers, slanted crawls, a awesome exit up a 4th class crack and a slog up steep sandstone. This was everyone's first time doing Larry which really brought the adventure level up a bit.
To ease the pain of looping the canyon, an easy shuttle was utilized. The shuttle method cut out a lot of walking for sure. This canyon without a shuttle is doable but would suck is what I'm trying to say. Not sure how long this route took us but it is in the 8hr range.
Here is an overview of the route.
