So I am the biggest rookie around no dought but still I can't get this front end right.
So I have come to the reality of well? My fat ass needs new front springs. They are rated for a 187 lb rider but with gear and all I blow that one right off the map for sure.
Gathered up what I believe I will need for the job including the top tool with 4 points.
I'll try and document it best I can incase it may help some other noob in the future.
Basically I'm just doing new springs and oil.

It has taken me forever to figure that my bike has been way stink bugged.
I should have realized this about a year ago when every other 500 rider complained that if you did not handle the throttle well she just stands right up to fast.
Mine just spit rocks like crazy but no wheel stand issues. THe hill climbs it would wash on the rear end with anything but idle.
Wish me luck as I think I am going in the right direction?

Quick and painless, Have the new springs in and done inside 2 hrs. cause it is my first time.
It takes more time to get the old oil out than to put it back together.
Heading out for a test ride friday to see if or rather how much adjustments are needed.:2thumbs:
the stock springs are set for 187 lb. rider and well I push that a bit with hydration and gear by a good #$%&@ anyway.
What can I say other than I have this warm fuzzy feeling about this one.

I'm also going back to the basics of how this bike was designed.
Forget the 140 rear tire. I'm setting her back up the way she came so I can stay in the rutts and get the traction I need to get through the corners.:ne_nau:

THat worked out very well.
No longer does this bike take a 6 " dive when breaking for corners and stops.
Only took about two hours from start to finish including set up to ride.
Much happier thus far. I was told I needed to set my clickers down 2 for both comp. and rebound. I did not as of yet.
If I had any complaint thus far it would be she stands up faster than I am ready for but light in the sand.
Much more saddle time is needed at this point.:2thumbs: I think I can live with that one.
Not sure about the high speed just yet but seems to be very close.

I hit the single tracks with somewhat harder pack whoops and this thing handles so much better.
A bit harder on my wrists and elbows but you can hit it much faster.
May be a bit stiff as I should have moved my clickers softer by two but I left it the same just to try.
I'm a bit nervous about bottom out and then getting thrown to the moon but the high speed stuff seems to keep me much more level and not so up and down like before.
