Utah and Idaho are quite fit states, but other blue states don't fare so well.

70% of the ten most healthy states are Blue. 30% are Red. Utah does always get close to the #1 healthy state though, regardless of the source. The south is always at the bottom.

It is my own opinion that laziness is the biggest problem in today's society and it is well spread among both political parties. Overall, the democrats are worse when it comes to making people dependent on handouts and better when it comes to protecting healthy outdoor recreation. The republicans give out less handouts, but tend to favor money over environmental protection and healthy activities. A generalization I know, but it does seem to have some truth to it.
