Mating or Fighting? With these birds it all looks the same.
I noticed over water it took my video camera longer to focus

I'm going with copulating. By the way, those are Tree Swallows. Purple Martins don't have white breasts and Violet-green Swallows have a different facial pattern. Nice video though!

Thank You for the info on the birds and the compliment on the video. Filming out of a boat is always a challenge. Good thing the camera has Image Stabilization.
