My wife and I retired 21 months ago after working in Summit County, Colorado for the last twenty years. We now travel fulltime in a 40' motorhome. Since retirement, we have been from Fairbanks, Alaska and Dawson City, Yukon (farthest points north) all the way down to Mustang Island, Texas (farthest point south). We have spent a lot of time in Arizona and Southern California. We have been on the Oregon coast twice and spent time in the state of Washington. We like rock art, ruins, hiking, kayaking, photography and birding. We love southern Utah and will begin a months stay on Cedar Mesa and around the Paria River area in a few days. We love hearing about the experiences of other people so, if anyone has any suggestions on what to do and see, please let us know. I am excited about using this forum.

I will be starting as an NPS volunteer at Hovenweep on 5/22 so I am biased towards there, but there are so many things to see and do in southern Utah it's hard to pick out the high points. Hovenweep and Canyons of the Ancients have some nice ruins that are easy to get to, stop in at the visitor center and say hello if you stop by.

We also have a motorhome and spend 2 months a year in Palm Desert. We have a home in Springdale, UT and Steamboat Springs , CO and keep the motorhome near Lake Powell in the Spring and early summer and have a 24' speedboat in a slip at Wahweep. This Fall we will take the motorhome on a trip to Nashville and then down the Natchez Trace Parkway to LA. We love hiking and pickleball and would be happy to tell you some interesting places to go in SW UT.

Does anyone know if Blue Pools slot on the UT/AZ border has anchors?

We have spent time in Palm Desert the last two winters at the Thousand Trails park and Desert Pools in Desert Hot Springs. We love how clean and cheery the Coachella Valley is. And, we will be doing Natchez Trace, etc. next spring on our way back from Florida. We would love to hear about places to see in SW Utah. englemanbarry@gmail.com
