South Coyote Butte

Has anyone been in to South Coyote Butte and/or White Pocket this spring? Wondering about sandy road conditions? We have never been to South Coyote Butte. Hope to go in June if we can get a permit. Will try for The Wave also but I'm not good at LV so I don't expect much when it comes to my name getting drawn!

I didn't think the sand was that bad on the more notorious Northern route via Red Hole into White Pocket. The southern route is certainly less difficult but also much less scenic. We took the southern route out. A number of rental Jeep Libertys with street tires made the southern road without much difficulty the day I was there last fall.

It's been dry enough lately that it should be pretty normal conditions at this point.

What vehicle are you doing it with?

Of course, a Jeep Liberty with street tires!
