Here is a poem written by our children, ages 9 and 10. Shaylee wrote the first part and Kessler the second. They showed it to us when they were done.
Shaylee (speaking in third person):
Time time mine mine pencil sign
Out of time write a rhyme
A poem to show them about me
so they can see about me
Read this passage about time of times
What is he doing?
Reading a book, writing a poem, writing about a girl?
Why does he want them to see?
To impress, he is lonely and wants a friend, he hates the clock
To make a girl fall in love with him, he loves time
How does he plan to make a friend?
Write, read, draw?
What do you think he’ll do next?
Kessler:
I think he will fall in love then ask her out.
Next, he will have a great relationship.
After that he will get married.
Last he will have a few kids.
