The rule had nothing to do with religion - is this station faux news?

I had seen this similar headline pop up on news sites before. I never clicked on the link, but thought that it would be odd that the student athlete would be disqualified for religious expression not organized by a state actor. I finally clicked on the video and my suspicions were confirmed. The student was not disqualified for religious expression but for his state's version of the "excessive celebration penalty." I don't know how overt or subdued the action was, so the officials may have over-reacted. However, religious expressions as celebrations shouldn't get a special exception to the rule and it didn't.

Not ridiculous at all.... and you should know better as this is the same rule used in HS and NCAA football games to stop showboating, endzone dancing, taunting, yada, yada...

What is ridiculous is that the news media is attempting to turn this into a religious thing.... and it's not.
