We are heading to Big Bear for a week in June. Curious if anybody has any info for some hiking and/or canyons available in that area. I am going to start doing some internet searching also. Thanks in advance.

San Gorgonio would be excellent choice. Highest summit in So Cal.

There aren't many published canyons in the Big Bear area, but here are a couple sort of nearby:
http://theatsteam.com/adventureworks/vivian-creek.html and http://www.dankat.com/swhikes/vivian.htm
http://www.dankat.com/swhikes/bigfal.htm

I'm interested in the drainage starting 34.2103, -116.9244 but don't really know anything about it.

Another potentially interesting thing in the area is Deep Creek Hot Springs, but it's not a technical canyon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Creek_Hot_Springs and http://www.yelp.com/biz/deep-creek-hot-springs-apple-valley

A good resource for hiking is Robinson's book - below. As folks mentioned above, I think the closest tech canyon might be Vivian.
