Well it's that time, I think I need to get a new rear derailleur. I've got a Kona Stinky with 9 rings on the back, 2 up front.
I've done almost ZERO shopping around yet. What would you guys recommend?

Any 9 spd der will work. Do you have indexed shifters? Sometimes the shifters have to be upgraded as well. Do you need a long or medium cage?
Id get an X7 or X9.

Agree on the SRAM. I have used the x9 and it's a great one. Heck, I even recently went with an x5, and it's awesome also, despite the low price.

SRAM X-9. The most trouble-free derailleur I have ever owned.

I currently have a X-7, had an XTR on my last bike...both work well.

I love xt with the shadow plus, your bike wil be quiet and no more chain slap. I am running xtr right now with the shadow plus and love it!

Given the age of the bike and the weight not being an issue, I would buy the cheapest that I could find even deore or lx or scram equivalent.
