Weird to post an article like that and not toss some pictures up. I wonder if the guy lost his camera in the excitement. :haha:
Edit: I'm gonna ask him I guess... seems weird to me.

I've never done the Jug, but with any luck one day I'll get to do it.

Salome Jug is fun. Neat canyon, kinda takes you by surprise as its granite that's kind of an orangey pink color.
Tom and I did it on the front end of the first ACA rendezvous in Globe, a few moons ago... We flew into Phoenix, picked up a rental car, and had just a smattering of beta (which proved to be wrong on the final rappel length). First thing we noticed was there was a river crossing where our approach road went. Hmmm. Well, it was a rental car. Glad we didn't stall and I recall water coming in over the floorboards. Good thing we accidently got upgraded to a high clearance 2wd pick up truck (what are the odds?). We only brought a short piece of rope and ended up leaving it fixed, which, someone later in the trip picked up for us. Geez, my first single rope rappel in a canyon...ha ha...
Got dark on us as we were pushin' daylight. Hiking back to the car in the dark, a mountain lion screeched right behind us. Motivated us to hike quickly back to the car. Pretty funny. Met the crew at a dinner spot in Globe later that night. Ended up being a great trip.
