0F tonight predicted here:

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Craig&state=CO&site=GJT&textField1=40.52&textField2=-107.55&e=1

Of course, that is nothing too unusual here, but it does get old by then end of March. Luckily we actually have five months of there year where it hasn't dropped below 0F. Of course there are none that can't drop below freezing.

Not alot of snow but fresh air abounded today at about 7400' :cool2:
And yes that is Zion minus an s in the back ground.

The day started out cold at somewhere in the 50's maybe it was the upper 40's We all had to ride with nylon wind breakers and such.
And to think it was in the 80's the week before Burr.

It was to say the least a really wonderful day and I had a chance to meet a Bogely member that I have not met until today.
Great day with great friends.
I love spring.
This photo was taken with a simple point and shoot so it just does not give it justice.

I think it might be spring now????

Must be. The months old snow in my yard is almost melted. Should be gone in a few days (though it's supposed to snow early next week again).

I feel so cheated. At the official weather station, it's actually a warmer 9F with a windchill of -3F. Our thermometer says it's only 5F at the house. A fresh blanket of winter snow too. Gotta love April. Only two more months of snow to go.

I'm not liking this rewind to winter. Too damn cold! I got soaked on my moto to and from work on Monday, refusing to get my raincoat out. Then yesterday it was blowing like a banshee and cold as hell. :angryfire:

We're getting hit pretty hard. 8" on the ground and still coming down.

Despite some groaning, the snow is a blessing. Colorado and Utah currently have well below normal snowpack:

ftp://ftp-fc.sc.egov.usda.gov/CO/Snow/snow/watershed/daily/basinplotstate13.gif

I'd rather see the snow then the fire season last year.

Snow in April is not unusual in Colorado or Utah and what falls in the lowlands at least, usually doesn't stick around for very long.

8" at my house this AM. 14" on the pass. The next round is just starting again. Ahhhh, springtime in the Rockies!
Glad we're heading to Escalante, Zion and House Rock Valley next Sunday for 2 weeks. Hoping to be in shorts most of the time, getting slot and color overload. Yay!

See, it really is spring. I just took this photograph of the robins singing in the trees (I took it right from my deck).

Anyway, it sounds like yet another foot of snow is supposed to fall tonight. We've been getting pounded out here.

A bunch of the I-70 and Summit County ski areas (here in Colorado) are reopening this weekend. We've all gotten at least 2-3 ft of snow since the Sunday closing date. It looks like "January" here in Steamboat Spgs. So glad i'm heading for Escalante this Sunday. I need some color in my life. Snow White is starting to get a wee bit tedious.

April 18: Temp on my kitchen thermometer is 10.2 F. The summit of the ski area (less than 2 miles as the crow flies and about 3600' ft higher) is reading -3.3 F on the DRI Storm Peak weather site.:cold: And.... another 6-7" inches of new snow on my deck. A classically, ridiculous cold Rocky Mt spring.
Hope this leads to no fires and it fills all the reservoirs.:2thumbs:
Looks like a may have to set up and air out my backpacking tent, in the garage.

It was 0F at the house, but at the weather station, it is apparently 5F. A bit chilly for late April.
