2012 500 xc-w (street legal)
What would you suggest for a tire to go over Zion Canyon as well as a week in Moab?
This is street legal.
I have had some time with Dunlop 606 in the dirt only on a big bore Dirt bike.
But after that I am at a loss for tarmac tires.
Let's hear it from you boys that know.
But hurry please as my window is closing fast.

I'd look at Rocky Mountain under dual sport tires. Read the comments/ratings and snag something cheap. I bet almost anything will work in Moab, but a softer terrain might be a touch better. I used to run the Pirelli MT 21's on my big KTM when I rode it a bit on the street. The D606's are much better in the dirt though and last just as long on road. A trials tire could be the ticket for both, but might suck in other terrain.

The 606 and Pirelli MT21 are about the same on the street... the 606 is way better in the dirt. Though it will be a pain in the ass... if you want to ride at 50+ mph on the tarmac you will want to balance them! One of my buds in NZ swears by the weights that just crimp around the spoke and are free to slide up and down. He says that he can pop them off when he throws his dirt only rubber back on and use them again. I personally have not tried them, but can attest to the front getting scary bouncy at speed on the road.

Trials rule I love mine. Only problem is your bike looks like a sissy machine. I first ran the comp (soft ones) they were almost to sticky on the slick rock (couldn't keet the front wheel on the ground) and came apart on the asphalt on one ride. Now running the harder compound one and they are holding up great. I do as well if not better then the other guys on similar bikes in the sand. Everywhere else they seem better. Was down to George and I could just fly over that big sand mountain there.

@moab mark (http://www.bogley.com/forum/member.php?u=6798) Cool thanks for the heads up.
So what tire are you running now? Brand and model?

I was just looking at this Shinko SR241 for $53.99 at Rockymtn.
:ne_nau: Any pros or cons with this one?

Kenda 270. That's what I run front and back for my enduro. They work well in both conditions and are affordable. The front can be less than inspiring in loose dirt turns but other than that I love them. I'm on my third pair on the DR.
