This isn't a big deal to me now, but when I wasn't living here it was a very big deal. My friends and I would take our ski trips all over the west (Tahoe, Whistler, etc) and never even considered Utah. We were in our early 20's and were looking for a good time to go along with our vacation. At the time (and I'm guessing now) Utah had such a horrible reputation of making sure the good times were restricted that it wasn't worth our bother to spend our time, and money, here.

Now I really don't care except for no wine in the grocery stores is a pain. I don't care for hard liquor and hate squeezing my way through the crowd on a friday night at the liquor store for my wife a bottle of Merlot.

This really hurts the chain restaurants that have a specific layout they know works. Several large restaurants will not locate to Utah because of the dumbass curtain.
