Camping suggestions near Monument Valley?

Hello everyone,

I am looking for car camping recommendations for the Monument Valley area. I am most intersted in sites that provide the following:

Access by low-clearance passenger vehicle
Great views
No cost or little cost
Within 2 miles of US 163
Easily found at dusk

Any ideas would be greatly appriecated.

The above link will provide quite a bit of beta about camping within the Navajo lands. You can also google "Monument Valley Camping" and obtain quite a few results. At large camping on Navajo lands is not allowed except by permit from what I've studied in the past and trhe link above seems to verify that. Never have camped in there myself. Hope that helps a little.
