And now we find out, this guy was the only person in the crowd who missed work to be there.

...<snip> 49.999%...

That's democracy for you...the only "free vote" where just under half the population could be unhappy with the result.

Has anyone read "In the Wet" by Nevil Shute, 1953, ISBN 0 330 02291 1 ? It's a novel about Australia, flying and the Queen.

It offered an insight into an alternative to the "one man one vote" version of democracy.

Only an estimated 57.5% of eligible voters turned out to vote...so, one could assume that a portion of those unhappy can't really lodge a legit complaint because they didn't bother.

How 'bout a three party system? Then maybe 2/3's folks get left out in the cold!

Didn't Utah set a record for low voter turn out? Lower than the national average at least... Even given Willard on the ballot...

Per my math, tossin' out the folks who didn't bother, only 28% didn't vote for the President.

The vocal minority! Thank goodness those poor folks have a constitution to hang onto to preserve what precious little rights they have...ha ha.

Ahhh...the privileged class...life is just never good enough and so, so unfair...

Heres some flag code, for those of us who believe the flag has meaning. Seems appropriate.

(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

I wasn't sure what to think at first, now I appreciate the symbolism. Our nation is in dire trouble...

While I support the man's right to display a flag like that, or, heck, even burn it, we are far far far from being in "extreme danger". Life is great. The country is doing just fine. The folks that are "inclusive" seem to have an upper hand, which, is a good time in our history with lessons to be learned for those who would be "exclusive".

Glass is well more than half full!

Unfortunately while the 3 party system sounds like a move in the right direction, the result could possibly leave 66.66% upset with the count, similar to what you said.

This year's vote especially in Utah showed a lot of folks who didn't want Obama to win, voted for a third party candidate, and were somehow upset when it wasn't Romney who won.

Hmmm....not sure I understand your point. The next closest feller in the presidential election, the Libertarian Gary Johnson, only got a little over 1% of the people who voted.
