Starts - runs -goes like a raped ape.
$2300 or may let her go cheaper but I'm keeping the pipe and tank and extras.
Or you can have them all for asking price.
The stock pipe has been uncorked to 1-7/8" if you want to go that route. Forest service minipulated. (legal and screened) Just breaths a bit better.

Right there bro.
That tank may very well take you across the hole state. Well darn close anyhow. 6.3 Acerbis.
The items on the ground are hand guards. A stock case saver, The white bag is a new but not needed yet chain guide, the bag below it to the left is a new chain slider but it does not need it just yet, spare plastic head lamp was replaced with a new glass one much brighter, Wheel bearings did not need to be repalaced but I did anyway and saved the stock good ones, THe swing arm bearings are new and in the bag and i would replace them just cause that is how I am, THe bottom bag I honestly don,t remember what it is but it is new and did not need to be replaced yet. I have about 6-8 jets and a new carb gasket kit and a bunch of stuff I have just plain forgotten about.
The thermastat has been replaced with a XR's only one and I am running the Dexcool red antifreeze like what they put in Toyotas right now and is fresh.
( safe for alum-alloy engines)
High flow backfire screen and uni filter. Fresh rubber boots for carb but were never needed. All grip seat and new bulbs front and rear.
XR'S only case saver, FMF slip on, Shark finn rear disc protector. Pro taper handle bars sanded to perfection= very crisp throttle response trust me or ride for your self.
Fully uncorked an she ripps ass on the open roads- she is untouchable.
Very claen for an 01 and serviced right and never put away wet.
Fresh chain and sprockets and that is why I never replaced the slider or guide as she does not need it yet.( these things get expensive).
The only thing wrong with this bike in my opinion is no electric start.
But don't let that fool you. She is very easy to start once you get the pattern down. (compression start fromTDC)

NOT FOR THE TIMID- She is bullet proof and a hand full for the noobie rider but I was too when I bought her and am still around to talk about it.

I can honestly say that this bike is the bar none most reliable bike I have owned to date.

Now the big question? The reason I'm selling is I just picked up a 2012 KTM 500 XC-W with EFI and electric start and I'm in heaven. I'm also a vet rider that needs all these little things to save my energy to keep up with the young boys.
Like those found here on Bogely LOL.

Great Bike At A Great Deal

Smoke any KLR in the dirt and I suspect the Freeway also. Yes even this years KLR
It is after all the king of the baja for a reason.
Gear it right and motard this bad ass girl and she will kick ass on many others.

My Buddy Chet is building himself a bad ass AF.

Finally someone that understands this bike.
He has one already and in the market for another?
Hope he calls before I go out to ride my KTM:2thumbs: like he said he would in the morn.:lol8:

This would work best on said time frame:)

This one bike I will miss but moab and a stabilizer may be worth it.

FRIG this that sob never called so i think I'm going to try and trade for something I can get my son started with.
THis will be a rough road to toe to say the least.

You know in 1973 I had to buy my first bike!!!! And oil and gas and stickers to ride. At 13 this was not easy.
At 23 he spent the better part of his life with mommy after the big Devorce.

I hope this idea will help us but I dought he will stick with riding.
Candy ass to say the least. Two earings and a flavour for navy trench coats.

Ya I may be a bit of a prick but I call them as I see them and a spade is a spade.
And a queen is well very hard to teach to ride.

Right now I'd probably trade for an under bar GPR with risers for a fast flex system and $1600.

LOL this may work:lol8: But then what does he do for junior?
It would be easy to learn with granted.:lol8: You know with a very heavy govener in place.

I'm sure at this point I'll just end up keeping her and reworking the controls a hole lot.
She is a magical bike in the right terrain. Nothing like a tripple wheel hop to start the whoops LMAO.

Mtnseeker1
02-14-2013, 09:03 PM
All it needs is an electric magic button, real suspension, Hydro clutch, and everything from the triple clamp up.
a major diet and all will be good.:lol8:

However you will be hard pressed to get that much power out of any true dirt bike...

Sorry KLR's are never in this class or DRZ's TRUST ME.
Nothing like grabbing higher gears while climbing a big sand hill when all others are gearing down. A CR 500 will always kick ass due to weight and power rational.

It is a total beast in every since.

I tell you one thing fore sure and certain This bitch tracks very well in the whoops if you dare?

She's so darn heavy she just plows through the tops.LOL

But in all honesty I shake like a flower child anymore just starting her up twice a week.

I think Moab Mark put it best when he said ---- When mtnseeker cracks that throttle the mama wants to go.

No offense, but that bike didn't earn the BRP title for nothin...

Mtnseeker1
02-16-2013, 05:19 PM
None takin. It is a BRP fore sure.
It earned King of Baja for some reason also.

Well I'm going to regret this one but she's gone gone gone but she went to a true lover of big bore bad ass bikes and was happy as a peacock with the Exon Val tanker.
I wish him the best of luck and have saved his number for future rides together. Great guy and she could not go to none other the way I see it. I lost $100 dollars for having her for 2 years but life is good. Best of luck Eddie and I can't wait to ride together this summer.:2thumbs:

02-26-2013, 08:29 PM
Now the sad part:haha:
It is spent like me, I mean, I have a gpr on the way a new armor suit tire ect. and maybe a recluse pro but I'm not sure just yet on that one. But chances are.

Mtnseeker1
02-26-2013, 08:34 PM
I got pissed of and thought what the hell spring is in the air right?
So I bumped the price up to $2700 and low and behold if I did not get about 6 calls.
Sold it to a true die hard BRP fan for 22 and life is good all around. I paid 23 2 years ago plus after market goodies as that is the norm.

Mtnseeker1
03-04-2013, 05:35 PM
Finally sold that bitch.
Only cost me $450 a yr plus gas oil and we won't talk about tires for the rear:roflol:
