View Full Version : Trip Report Northern Arizona Ruins still Photograph well.

Greetings. Was lazy this weekend but still managed to get out and enjoy our beautiful weather (mid-70's). I visited a couple of National Monuments and a Petroglyph Site that are pretty close by. Also got some nice fall pics. Enjoy! OZ.... The first Pics are of Montezuma's Castle. Still in great shape. 6136261363 Next stop was Montezuma's Well. A large, deep limestone sinkhole full of spring water. Ruins are built as Cliff Dwellings and Pueblos around the perimeter of the sink. Ruins are also built in a cave near the water outlet to the creek below. 6136461365613666136761368 Off to Red Tank Draw for some Petroglyphs. I hadn't seen these panels but have seen others in the Draw. 6136961370613726137361374 Couldn't resist a couple of pics of the canyon. 613756137661377

Yes, there are many turtles in the well. The Picto's were located somewhat north of the well but along a watercourse that also has many turtles. Glad you liked the pic. OZ....
Perhaps a horny toad...are there turtles in the well?
