I am not capable of this. I went duck hunting at Farmington bay this last weekend with out having any luck. I think the closest duck that I saw was maybe 100 yards. I of course took three shots with my fancy semi-auto but knew that I would miss. But, it got me thinking, how far is a shotgun really able to shoot? This guy can kill clay at 130 yards.

Shooting lead shot at clays is a lot easier than shooting steel shot at waterfowl. I shoot a semiauto as well and some of the energy is used to cycle another shell instead of it pushing the shot 100 % down the barrel. You would have to hit a duck directly in the eye at those distances to actually kill it.
