One of the things I do (when I remember) is to photograph a piece of paper with my contact details on it.

I must also remember to do it again after formatting the card!

I add a TXT file to my memory card with my contact info. The text file I name "reward if found".

On the inside of my GoPro lid I've written "Reward if found" and my number in permanant marker. Easy.

The TXT file is a pretty slick idea though, I do that for my other camera. :2thumbs:

If you take the battery out, which takes an effort, there is a serial number for the camera (my blue wibbly-wobbly arrow).

It might be worth sending that to GoPro to see if they have records of the sale (or at least a location).

61120

mine is a GoPro2, but perhaps the GoPro1 is the same?

It's cool to see people going to such lengths to return found property.

I'm hoping to earn some good Karma

Actually, I know how much it sucks to lose a camera with video & images on it that mean a lot to me and feel bad for anyone else who has that happen to them..

Edit: I'll check the camera to see if it has a serial number inside and email Gopro.. good idea

It's not uncommon for cameras to be returned back to their original owners through bogley :cool2: Sometimes it happens on the same weekend, sometimes months when the owner thinks to check some forums online.

just got a reply from GoPro, they cannot locate the owner through the serial number
