Amazing! Great day to be out there. Didn't take my camera, only a few shots on my phone.

Like MMA, this event is more fun to watch on TV IMO... :ne_nau:

I disagree 100%, something awesome about being right there, seeing the crazy size of the things they are jumping off, over, etc...

Just not the same on TV...for me at least.

Thx for embedding it Beech. I seriously love that they all wear a GoPro. Being there in person and seeing what they are going off of and the lines they pick is mind boggling for this less than average rider (me:mrgreen:). But then to come home and see the video from their camera's makes watching the footage all the more thrilling.

Following from this article http://www.grindtv.com/outdoor/blog/36198/mountain+biker+walks+away+from+perilous+plunge+in+ renowned+downhill+competition/

Incredibly, Zink was able to walk away after spending 15 minutes on the ground getting checked out by medics. When he rose to his feet he thrilled the crowd that had been stunned into a hushed silence moments earlier. Incredibly, his biggest injury ended up being two severely bruised heels. In fact, Zink returned the next day in an effort to compete in the finals, but he determined the pain in his feet was too much to handle.

Zink, who's endured five knee surgeries, two broken feet, and a rod being put into his tibia, is well aware of how lucky he is just to be walking. "I was scared for my life," he posted afterward on his Facebook page.

I don't go to an event to take pictures, I'm not a photographer.

Let the photographers miss the action by staring through a lens the whole time, not me. I'll enjoy their pics and vids when I'm done and remember how much better it was in person to see the riders hit those features up close. To feed off the energy of the riders/crowd, etc...

I suppose concerts are pointless too, you can just buy the DVD or look at some pics after?

Your argument is terrible.

It's not an argument it's an opinion, shall I explain the difference to you? Changing my "argument" premise though to try and defeat it, is weak and cowardly. But I'll play along, why not. Here is my argument.

A concert has superior sound, people to slam into while moshing, and 2nd hand MJ smoke to inhale. Moshing in my living room doesn't have the same effect. Although I could "argue" at the concert I'm just watching the large screen TV's (on stage) anyways and have excellent speakers in my house. But most concerts have big explosions and interesting stuff to make it worthwhile.

My "argument" was that it's like MMA, or boxing if you're old school. Sitting in nosebleed seats, the human figure(s) is/are so far away it's difficult to appreciate the insane stuff they are doing. And it's not like there is a staging area where we can be close to the action. We're all sitting at the bottom of a cliff trampling vegetation with the other knuckle draggers. Watching the video, it's easier to be appreciated IMO. I asked for a photo to see how your point of view was attending the event. I thought perhaps you were up on the cliffs where most of these awesome videos were taken and perhaps that's why you had such a different opinion.

No hating though, just was bored outta my mind, and won't be attending again. The highlights and videos rock though and are much more interesting, really enjoyed watching those.

:lol8: Ok that was funny!

If only the rest of your argument was as well contrived as your dismissal.
