Hey hey!
My husband & I recently moved to Salt Lake and are loving how much there is to do here! Unfortunately we travel for work during the week and have 24-48 hours each weekend to explore. So during the week I'm planning our next hike, drive, or mtn bike trip. I do have Hiking the wasatch book and Benchmark Utah road & recreation atlas in the mail. We've done a couple 5-8 mile hikes. But I'd like to start planning for one nighter's. We have the gear and I've been googling away, but need some direction/ advice of some nice/epic places to go. We also have a dog and would like her to tag along as she's always done. Thank you for any help for us newbies!

I think a classic is the Phfeifferphorn peak up near Alta (starting from the white/red pine trailhead). It's a good 4 1/2 to 7hr round-trip hike but very pretty!!

Welcome! Posting in the hiking section will get a better response. You can also sort through the previous trip reports for ideas. Then ask more questions. :2thumbs:
