I got a job at UMC in the Operating Room!!!:cool2: Thane and I are moving to Henderson on Monday (anyone who wants to help load the U-Haul is certainly welcome--there will be beer :lol8:) until the new house is built in North LV.
It's a little scary-I've never lived anywhere bigger than St G. but I guess it's not really an adventure unless it's a little scary-right? Also, as an adult, I've never lived outside of UT, so that will be interesting. Since I'm not LDS, I'm curious to see what it's like to live among non-mormons. Even though I've never fit in, I've always thought that there was some sort of protection (which is weird, because there is also a level of discrimination from SOME) that came from living here.

Good luck with the move and the new job! Exciting times ahead, you're young and it won't be too difficult to adjust. Just imagine that we packed up and moved from New Jersey to Toquerville, now that's culture shock!

Oh my! LV is not really a typical non-mormon place! :cool2:

I grew up there and went to UNLV! It's scary! But you can have your own little corner and it's nice .. but hot!

You'll love it here. Plenty to do! Lot's of recreational opportunities and Utah is only 2 hrs away.

Tanya nailed it. Las Vegas is like a hotter, bigger extension of St. George, with casinos. I have family that live there, and we visit them often. You'd be surprised how "Utah-esque" Vegas is once you're off the strip. As a local, you're bound to visit the strip at least once, and then you'll only ever do it again to humor your family and friends when they come to visit. Ask any local...the strip is a dirty, stinky blight of society.

In fact, my cunado is a nurse at UMC. Tell Jon I said hi!!

Thanks Felicia, Kurt, Rockgremlin, and Discgo. I keep hearing all of that-about being nuts and about not ever visiting the strip. I'm pretty sure both are right!:naughty:

Wow, that is a culture shock. What part of NJ?
