Enjoy! I have always wanted to float that stretch during autumn. We do Deso twice a year and love it. Joe Hutch is interesting right now....i.e. kinda technical.

Hope you find some folks. Our next trip is in October on the Juan.

Did my first solo Deso this May. It a great place to be alone. Bring a shotgun and do some waterfowl or upland game hunting (a little harder now with the dog ban).

Have you never done Deso? If so, you are in for a great trip as long as you don't consider it a classic "whitewater" run. Its mostly a float trip with some riffles and rapids thrown in. Best camps around.

pheasant and chukar? that could be fun. any suggestions on good spots to hunt?

not worried about the whitewater. just looking for an option to avoid hiking for a couple of weeks since i dropped a half sheet of 1/2 plywood on my foot. foot is healing quickly but it will still be a bit till i'm able to walk without a hitch in my giddy-up. and i like lazy days on the river.
