So I finally got around to editing the footage. Go easy on me now. first time using my gopro and first time using my video editing software which is the Sony Vegas editor. I hated it at first but by the end i didn't mind it to bad. If any of you guys have any tips or tricks or wanna share what settings you use on the gopro I'd like to hear them.

The funny thing is she did spin around and hit her butt on the wall but I edited that part out so her mom wouldn't freak out lol.

Nice vid dude! Only crit from me is the best footage IMO is the last minute. I see you wanted to do the canyon in order, but because it's so long people might leave before they get to it. So my preference is to put the best footage towards the beginning. But again, very small crit, very nice and enjoyable video. I really like how you pretty much captured the entire canyon in that short vid. :2thumbs:

P.S and one small party foul for not filming a cliff jump at the last pool. :haha:

Thanks man. I was torn between doing it in order or breaking it up but just stuck with doin it in order. My battery died when the last person was doin the last rap so we didn't get any fun stuff after that. This was the same day your crew did behunin and it was raining pretty good when we got back to the switchbacks so we jetted out of there pretty quick anyways. Did you guys get out at all this weekend. We were gonna go do water canyon this morning but plans fell through.

Good video, I have just a couple of ideas to share.

When I did a video of Fat Man's recently I thought:

Nobody that has been there wants to see 10 minutes of it;

People that will never visit Fat Man's don't want to see 10 minutes of it;

Only a small fraction of people that hope to go there want to see 10 minutes of it.

So, to keep everyone from falling asleep during my video, this was my recipe:

All of my shots were short, less than 10 seconds. EVERY shot was dramatic, action packed or funny in some way. Then I paired it with a song that almost everyone likes. The key was keeping it under 3 minutes, it kept everyone's attention that viewed it.

Overall though, I like your video. It's FAR better than my first attempt. :2thumbs:

Yea I totally agree that it's too long for sure. But the main reason I made it was to show my family and my cousins family what it was like and i just didn't think I could fit it that short. As far as the music goes I tried different songs at first but YouTube would recognize them as copy written and then not allow playback on certain devices so after several attempts I said to hell with it and put 2 of my friends bands music on it cause I knew it wasn't copy written. Thanks for the advice though man.

Yeah we did water canyon on Sun. I was thinking of inviting you but we had 12 people in our group and most of them were noobs. We are reqruiting pretty hard for Z crew to keep our groups bigger. That way if people have plans we always have enough people to do a canyon or two. So I figured belaying 12 people down each rap wouldn't be that much fun and slow. Turns out though it's a perfect time to do Water Canyon, it's very full of water, lots of swims and deep pools. Total blast as opposed to the last couple times I've been through there it's so dry. Anyways, next time!

That's cool man I'm gonna have to hit that canyon up this week then if it's in good shape. I haven't been through that one yet and I've been looking at it for a while so its time I did it. We will defiantly have to hit something up together sometime though. How long did it take u guys with 12 peeps to do water canyon.

So me and my buddy took some of his family through pine creek today and the water was quite a bit colder then it was 3 weeks ago and the water level is also down a foot or two in most places. So being a Saturday there was of course a line for the last rap and I happened to notice that 3 groups in a row took the high exit along the LDC cliff after the final rappel. I was under the understanding that it was an emergency exit only. Is that not the case anymore or was it just a case of somebody not knowing where to go and all the other groups just playing follow the leader?

Yeah, that is supposed to be closed. Major erosion in a couple places.

Would be nice if people kept off it.
