Yeah, I knew that title would get your attention! :naughty: :lol8:

Hey, I'm going to be in the Phoenix area on Saturday, August 18th. I'm planning on heading down the Salome Jug that morning. A solo descent doesn't look too daunting, but I'd rather go with some freindly Bogleyites.

Send me a PM if you are interested in joining me on this grand adventure.

I went through the Jug last week the water was good, rains had just flushed most of the green sludge out of the pools but there was still one that was pretty nasty. If you are just doing the jug you dont need a rope the last rap is an easy down climb if there is no flow. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151127072955519.490834.669955518&type=3 Enjoy that canyon is awesome!

"just doing the Jug" ? Is there more canyoneering to be had right there?

I'm not that familiar with the Jug, didn't realize that it dried up in the summer. Shucks. Green sludge you say? Since I'm not going to be in the neighborhood again anytime soon, I'll just have to power through. Thanks for the info bretoyce.

I'm not on Facebook, but would like to see your photos...

Parker Creek Canyon is fairly near the Jug and makes a great daily double when done with the Jug..... but Parker is likley dried up and sludgy right now also. Both canyons are best done in the spring when they are flowing from the snowmelt. Here is a couple pics from the Jug back in April.
