I'll bite. A couple of weeks ago I ordered 7 Dell pc's and 7 Dell 20" monitors for resale to a current customer of ours, the US Military Academy at West Point. The pc's showed up here fine but the monitors went missing. I tracked the shipment from FedEx and they showed they had been delivered. Not finding them anywhere in the office, I checked the recipient signature which showed an unknown (to me) name. After calling FedEx, it was determined that they were mis-delivered to another company here in the building. So, I walk over to the other company where it turns out the receptionist was the one who signed for the 7 packages. She walks me down to their IT person who informs me that he had already distributed all 7 monitors to workers within the company. Aarrrgghh! He then tells me he thinks the boxes are still around and he can box them up and get them back to me. My response was, no, that doesn't work. We are re-selling these monitors and the USMA is very strict on the boxes being delivered having not been opened before and must have the original Dell packing tape intact. I remained calm but, questioned why nobody had read the labels on the boxes or looked at the packing slip. His reply was they get so much hardware in that it wasn't questioned. After that, I had to speak with the president of the company to resolve the issue. This is a 10million dollar a year company. I'm sure she wasn't happy having to deal with the issue. We finally resolved that they would order the same model of monitor and have them drop-shipped to my customer. When she brought up any price differences, I said, "Whoa! I don't care if they cost you double what I paid. That's not my concern. My customer just needs the same model monitor that they ordered. I've already paid Dell". Again, I was calm and polite but, pointed out that they really should read the delivery labels and packing slips. Still, I was pissed at this company and FedEx! Guuurrrr!

Driving to Boise, Idaho today -- every bridge was under construction after we crossed into Idaho, and every bridge in Utah made my truck + 5th wheel catch air and damned near change lanes.

About 80 miles before Boise, we ran into a "Oversized Load" truck that took up both lanes of US84 and we were down to 40mph for quite some time. Finally found an exit to hit a Flying-J for fuel and ice cream cones, but 30 minutes later, found ourselves behind that same damend "Oversized Load" again.

Finally arrived in Boise, but had a KOA reservation in Meridian. Even though it was 7pm, we hit EVERY LIGHT coming into town. My transmission temp was approaching 225F, and the outside temps were above 100F (while they were only in the 80's in SLC).

Get to within 2 miles of the KOA, then suddenly, its 4 lane roads, but the navigation system takes a SHIT. We have to backtrack at least 4 times to find the correct route along a 1way road into the campground. Get to the campground, only to find that mine (and every other RV in the area) sits very HIGH on the LEFT (drivers side), so we need to level before we can disconnect. By now, its easily 105F outside, I'm tired, pissed and have had enough direct sunlight int the face.

We get the 5'er setup, disconnect the truck, then immediately set out for dinner. I search for a nearby Texas Roadhouse (its' 9minutes away.. but in Boise roads = 30 minutes away). We get there, to discover that the parking lots are designed for SMART cars ( and I have a huge Dodge dually). We go in, place our orders, when suddenly a group of ~8 high-and-tight wanna-be's walk by my table at least 5 times. I think they saw the military stickers on my truck and believe they wanted to "introduce" themselves, but didn't.

Get back to the 5'er after dinner, to discover that our AC + water heater blew the fuse, so inside the 5'er, its still a toasty 98F.

I walk in, and was casually approached by some young kid looking put out that he had to do his job. All of his dialogue was delivered in a monotone voice, and very curt.

Him:"can i help u?"

Me: "Ya I'm looking for iPhones"

He nods in the direction of some corner of the room "They're over there" (He almost sounded like he wanted to say they're right f***in' there!)

Me: "can u tell me about them?"

Him: "well they're smartphones so it's like having a computer"

I stare blankly expecting more.

Me: "Alrighty then....thanks, I think" And I leave.

Today I went to the Verizon wireless store in the Gateway. I was approached immediately by some sweaty, panting fatty. "Can I help you?"

Me:"Ya I'm lookin for iPhones."

He leads me over to the iPhone display and asks for my name, which he jots down on a clipboard.

Him:"Ok, just give me a minute, and I'll be right back to help you."

I stand there and wait as he walks behind the counter and starts restocking an enormous rack of smartphone screen covers. After his restocking duties, he begins helping some other guy who just walked in the door. After 15 minutes of this nonsense I turned and walked out.

Geez, getting a smartphone is like sourcing drugs...you ask around and everyone just shrugs and plays stupid. :fitz:

My wife and I both have Droid Razr Maxx's and we love them.... A few of my friends are trading in iPhones for Galaxy S phones and Galaxy Nexus..... Those are cool, but the batteries blow.

The Maxx's had 3 or 4 day battery lives until this last update (android 4.0 I believe) and now my battery barely lasts a day and a half... my wife's lasts 2 full days.

I guess the road was too righteous and Cottonwood Heights City decided to tar and gravel it. What gives? I'm no civil engineer but there must have been some reason to take a brand new road and repave it with gravel. Seems like a big waste of tax payer dollars. Totally agree with you. It's just as bad in urban areas. The last thing I need in the morning are people who think they're funny broadcasted at full volume over the airwaves. What's especially annoying are the obnoxious soundbytes mixed in with all the ill-conceived humor. If these jackasses were on stage at any comedy circuit they'd be boo'ed off stage amidst a shower of rotten vegetables. I might suggest that I thought they were pandering to the younger generation, but the younger generation rarely listens to the radio for music anymore. My radio in the morning has the tuner turned off and the Ipod plugged in.

OK - here's one: The company I work for is petitioning $$$ for the make-a-wish foundation. We were assigned a child and her plight, and given a goal of $6,000 to make her dream come true. All throughout December we were bombarded with updates and requests for more $$$. Well, here it's now January and apparently we only made $4,000 out of the desired $6,000 goal. So they're launching another campaign to see if we can meet the goal by the 25th of this month.

We have three (3) president level supervisors that I know for a fact make well beyond 100K -- possibly 300K or more. Why don't they drop in a few grand out of their Scrooge-McDuck pile of gold they are hoarding? Instead of squeezing the blood out of the lower ranking turnips? Now they want to add a second child to the roster and try to get another $6,000 by the end of next month. Yeah OK, I'll just tell my kids to live off of Ramen noodles for a few weeks so that I can afford to throw money at some kid I've never met who wants to go on a free trip. Brother! :crazycobasa:

I live in a cul-de-sac off a steep street. I was about to turn out of my circle and head down the hill when I spot headlights at the top of the hill to my right. I thought " In this weather, surely they are going slow enough for me to go ahead and pull forward". For what ever reason I decide to wait anyway. Next thing I know this truck that had to be doing 30 at the crest of the hill, is halfway down the hill, sideways and coming in hot, I put my badass 4Runner in reverse and peel backwards into my cul-de-sac to avoid getting smacked. Luckily they clobbered a snow bank and a fire hydrant just short of where I had been. Had I not reversed and had the snow bank and hydrant not been there, Id probably be in the ER.

What's worse, is they just gunned it out of there and then proceeded to slide straight through the T intersection at the bottom of the hill, barely missing cross traffic and ending up in the church parking lot.

Get a clue folks.

And I don't want to hear anyone complain about the weather. You know why? Because you can't do shit about it! Except move or buy a new car! If you hate snow, GTFO of Utah.

Morons who don't signal their intent to turn left at an intersection. Two lanes form at an intersection. I see the guy in the left one is not signaling a turn so I figure I'll get behind him. Assuming he can step on it, we will both make it across before the folks in the right lane. That's important because on the other side of the intersection the road again becomes narrow single lane. Light turns green, the moron waits to turn left. Of course there's one car after another coming from the opposite direction so the left lane is no go. I have to wait until I find a small window in the right lane that I can cut in. All because some moron does not know how to signal.

Getting up at the crack of dawn to go motorcycling out in the west desert of Utah. Driving through THICK fog for 90 minutes to find out that there was 8" of snow in the desert! WTF!!!

And to top it off the key fob to my truck also went tits up... and it's not the battery. The sucker died and won't work.

Schindler's List...the movie. It's on tonight and I did what I always do, just like certain other movies that I automatically will select whenever they are playing...like "Dumb and Dumber" or "The Chronicles of Riddick".

Anyway, I've see this movie at least 4 times all the way through, and at least 5 more partially. That's the problem...after 45 minutes or so I just can't take it anymore and have to change the channel. Then I'm pissed at myself for purposely watching something that bums me out EVERY TIME. It's a great movie but Christ...once is enough, ya know? I wish they'd stop playing it on cable so I wouldn't have to suffer this friggin' dilemma. BTW, it's coming out in Blu Ray on next month...buy it for someone you really dislike.

Whoa man...Shindler's List and Dumb and Dumber. You n' me man we're twinners. I think I've seen D&D at least 10 ten times. Can quote almost every line. Shindler's is another fav -- along with almost every other WW2 flick made in recent years. Band of Brothers is still the best WW2 filmography made in recent years IMO. I own the box set and watch it every year around the beginning the May (commemoration of V.E. day). When are you comin' over the mountain to hit some So. Utah slots?

Finally, and I mean finally, took the plunge and moved from a blackberry sin internet to a Galaxy S3. Had the phone for about 5 days, took some pics, uploaded to Facebook, all the typical civilized stuff.

Decided to help out the dispatch office and pick up clients today. Showed up to a medical office and was told the client was still in. Waited 30 minutes, dropped my phone off the chair, cracked the screen, then found out the client had left before I even showed up.

Then to t-mobile, find out I owe $150 deductible and $50 deposit for a loaner phone.

He was in his sixties, had the cold off and on this winter, and had apparently had previous health conditions we were not aware of. He called in yesterday morning to say he was going to be back on Monday, then was found a few hours later on his bathroom floor.

I'm going to give my wife and kids and extra hug and kiss tonight.

X3... check out the Ikea memory foam mattresses, I have honestly never had a better nights sleep for $200... much better than the $1500 pillow-top that we used to have.

The stupid @#$%&@ thing felt so comfy in the mattress store, and it actually is comfy for sleeping, but I didn't think of other consequences. We've had it for a several months now, but I seriously hate and loath that thing.:angryfire: Of course there are alternatives, but the lazy chair is about busted and I get sick of rug burns, etc.

Thank you so much.. I have not actually laughed that hard in weeks! Memory foam is a good and solid base for personal interaction with a significant other :)... but don't take my word for it.. test it out in the store (with video)
