Seat Post Droppers

I got a newer bike and was wondering about those fancy seat post droppers. Does anyone have good experience with these?

By that I mean are there one out there that don't end up failing short of a year, or are they still too new to get one?

I have had mine going on three years now. It is the specialized version bought in 2010. It is not entirely issue free but the issues are minor and beats stopping to manually lower my seat or lift it. I LOVE MY seat one of the best investments for me and my riding.
