Having just driven from South Jordan to Las Vegas (and back), I'm here to report that we're on fire from North to South. The amount of huge fires that we drove through is just incredible. I was sad watching the fire around Duck Creek start up (just as we were leaving Bryce Canyon).. we could still see the billowing pyro-cloud from St. George.
Coming back, though -- seeing the entire mountain North/South and West of Scipio burning was heart-breaking.
Then, only to reach the Wasatch front to see Alpine on fire.
Sad days to see our beautiful mountains on fire -- and all of them preventable and human caused!
Please, please, please -- do not be the cause for yet another man-made fire!

Yes, might be a good year to skip the DIY fireworks and instead just enjoy the scheduled shows. And please no :2guns:out there either!

Utah's neighbors are on fire too. It's going to be a long summer.
Much of New Mexico just went into Stage 3 fire restrictions. That means no public access at all. Hopefully Utah and Colorado won't reach that point, but if human caused fires continue to be a problem, we might.

Agreed. Wyoming is also suffering blazes. No offense to those of you in CO, WY or NM, but I live in Utah and am truly concerned about my state. I'm hopeful we see rain in the next day or two as has been forecasted. The entire inter-mountain west is ablaze and we're all in this together (sort of). I'm hoping for some great rain!

What is the status of the Alpine fire, how did it start and where? I've been out of town for a few days with very limited cell coverage and no Utah news. I can barely get tapatalk to load...

Started with some kind of construction fire in Alpine, then spread very quickly. I'm always amazed at how fast people think these fires start. Really?

I hope it's rain. but my fear is it will be lightning and most or all of the rain will evaporate in the dry air before reaching the ground. I don't even want to think of the potential from lightning storms :gloom:

We stopped for lunch in Beaver (Kan Kun Mexican) and met about 35 men (all native Americans) from Ft. Apache (Arizona) that were heading toward the Scipio fire. Also saw Wildfire teams from Idaho and Alaska..

Rain, rain, rain and I love it. It has rained most of the day here in Provo which as I have watched on radar, has hit the Alpine area also. I am hopeful this will put a major dent in the fires here in northern Utah.

Oh yes, the rain all day in northern Utah has been great. I hope it moistens the rest of the currently un-burnt mountains.

I hope all works out for the best.

Those fires should really help the Ecology of the areas. We all know that part of the reason we have a Pine Beetle infestation is due to the high density of trees from fire suppression over the years. These fires should help clear out the dead wood and thin the forest.
Just because it looks bad to you, doesn

Here we go again...
In Utah we've got fires burning in Daniels Canyon and easy of Jordanelle Reservoir
Carson said the fire was started by human negligence, and those responsible reported the fire to officials.

I think I dated Easy of Jordanelle when I was younger.
