What's the pronunciation? I've always said Timp-uh-nee-kee but I seem to get dirty looks from natives who seem to insist it's Tim-puh-noo-kee.
While we're at it, creek vs crick?

Tim-puh-noo-kee.
^^THIS ^^^ (I would have wrote it Tim-puh-new-kee)
and that's from a local who's uncle was a ranger up AF canyon for 20 years.
While we're at it, creek vs crick?
Both pronouciations are considered correct.... that from an english professoer I once had. One version is more popular in the south and the other in the north.
You're welcome. :cool2:

Yeah, agree with Ice.
Creek vs Crick: I say creek and I think the duke boys would say crick. :haha:

Same subject: Hooper. Pronounced "Hup-er" by lots of locals? I would have imagined "Hoop-er"? My analogy......I don't often go "shut" "hups" on the court!?
