No this isn't spam :lol8:
Hey, I've got the choice between an iPhone 4S and the Droid Razr Maxx. Suggestions?

I am most definitely not if the intellectual apple crowd. But secretly, I love my iPhone 4s. I have pretty simple needs as far as a phone goes tho so for me to comment on its full capabilities ( most of which I am not even aware of) would be out of my scope. Siri is a nice feature...

I just recently (a few weeks ago) bought the 4S and after 2 weeks of use, tossed it in favor of my current Droid Razr Maxx. So much more functionality on the Droid platform. Additionally, the larger screen and battery life are a huge bonus!

:haha: That is usually the way of Android, but what makes the Galaxy SIII different is that it has Samsung's equivalent of Siri, and several other new technologies that should really give Samsung the edge.

Isn't Siri for people without any real friends?

A guy I'm working with, same story. He tried the 4S for a week and a half and traded it in for the Razr Maxx.
I've got an Android tablet and an iPad 2, the iPad runs much smoother than the Android so I was wondering if he just had a fluke or something.
The iPhone seems to have a sharper screen than the Razr but I do like the app choice on Android. Plus his battery life on the Razr seems to be very good.
One more thing I'm considering, the 4S only supports up to 3G where the Razr is 4G
With Siri, it's not quite a selling point for me. Half of the time it just does a web search for your phrase, if you were able to speak clearly. And for the amount I use the Google voice commands anyways, I'm not in need of anything else.

I am very familiar with android / iOS. I personally believe that the iPad works much better and more smoothly and android tablets. But I believe high end Android phones out perform iOS (especially when grouping in additional benefits like Google Navigate). I almost bought an iPad 3 when I bought my Asus Transformer Prime but being stuck to go through iTunes was a deal braker for me.

Ive got the Droid Razr Maxx, The battery LASTS FOREVER.
At my normal job in a warehouse nobody gets cell service, and if you don't have your phone in "airplane mode" then your battery will die pretty quick... unless you have the Maxx. My friend Ben has the 4s and his battery goes pretty quickly even in airplane mode but mine will still be at 40-60% after a full 12 hour shift while NOT in airplane mode.
With very little phone use I have had my phone last from a Monday morning until Thursday night.... but then again with tons of phone use I have had it last from Monday morning to Tuesday night until I needed a charge.... so the battery is really the shining feature that appeals to me.
I got my Maxx in February and the only glitch I have experienced so far is with the screen rotate feature when you turn the phone from vertical to horizontal, sometimes it just won't rotate.... restart the phone and it is fine though. This has happened about 3 times since February....
So, I prefer the Maxx:cool2::cool2::cool2:

I've been writing several APP's just for personal use.... I don't want to share them, I don't want to sell them, I don't want to have to pay to place them in the iStore, and wait to have them approved, just to download them to my own phone. When I need my phone to do something special that makes my life easier I just write an APP and load it into my Android phone with no hassle....
Now that probably makes me a nerd (power user?) and not a cool kid.... but I can live with that because my phone does exactly what I want it to do, and not what my OS tells me it can do.

My woman and all her female friends say pretty much the same thing about Siri while painting their nails and drinking female drinks.

PS: Android does porn... lets see your iPhone do that. :fitz:

iphones suck so hard because they are so difficult to use compared to android and cost more to utilize... Also, I am a nerd but haters gonna hate

No, I'm not a hater.... iPhones/iProducts are great for a lot of people.
I'm just really surprised Acca is not an Android user with all his mad computing skillz he is always telling us about. Just about every computer nerd I know has an Android because they can tinker with it.
And I know beech is a computer nerd so I'm surprised the choice of phones is even a question for him.

I get so much crap from a few of my friends since I don't use a single apple product and I run a small graphic design/printing business.... its funny

I used to jailbreak my iPhones and play around with them. I got bored after a while. My iPhone does what I need it to do and I enjoy the simplicity. My iPhone can get the same fart apps that the Android has. The difference is I cant modify the fart apps and include my own farts. Dang maybe I better get one... :lol8:

Siri was good & fun for about 5 minutes, but mostly couldn't help me out. I'm a conflicted person because I use an iPad3 tablet and my Droid Razr Maxx. I have two Droid tablets too (a Galaxy Tab and a Lenovo Thinkpad)..so I suppose I have the best of both worlds.
Justin, all the cool dudes went with Droid at work.... so just so you know ;)
Razr Maxx is freaking awesome, SOOOO fast and battery lasts for ages. Love it.
The English/Theater/Art degrees picked iPhones, tech/math/IT degrees picked Droids....funny how that is.

Joking aside, both phones are great. Hard to make a decision. I personally went with Android cause I already purchased quite a few apps for it and I like how you can simply add music, files, apks and make a hotspot. Also the battery life is awesome on Razr Maxx. It's snappy with screens/apps.
On the other hand, I did buy 4S for my wife because it's easy to use, it works and you don't have to think outside the box to operate it. I call it an apple tunnel vision. Neither Siri or Google Voice search understand me, so it wasn't an option for me to use as a choice.

I picked up my Droid Razr Maxx last week and I'm 100% satisfied with it, and pleasantly surprised with a few other things on it. The 4G is screamin' fast, faster than my home WiFi sometimes.
I've been favoring my Samsung Vibrant (Galaxy) since I've bought it but I've finally come across a phone I like better. The screen is extra sharp, the battery life is great, the Dual Processor rocks, and I can stream all of my media from my home computers using MotoCast.
I'm still learning it a bit but I've got zero regrets. About half of the techs I work with chose the iPhone 4S and it's getting to the point I'm feeling sorry for them and their poor decision, now I'm trying not to be an Android Snob in front of them, constantly speaking praises about the phone. :haha:

Glad to see you get rid of the b rick Beech. :D I've had the 4A and traded for the Samsung S3. Samsung is faster, bigger screen (duh), and great battery life. The iPhone is easier to hold, more reliable and simpler. Android rules the navigation market and iPhone rules the music integration market. Rarely used Siri or the other. Can't wait to get the I5, then the new Nexus. Back and forth!

Holy Crap those data rates are expensive for Verizon.
We finally were going to purchase an iPhone through Verizon until we saw the costs. $90-120 a month total for glorified internet access? Damn. I love the map features for road trips but other than that I just can't see justifying that expense for personal use.
I now see why telecommunications companies are rolling in the dough.
We have thus far avoided any internet access on my wife's work phone knowing full well that it just means blurring the boundary between work and home even more. That is already bad enough as #2 in charge for the school.
