Upper Left Fork and Das Boot

Went through Upper Left and Das Boot Saturday. First time in upper left and it was awesome. Lots of water up there. I read somewhere it can be smelly but it is nice right now. I think I liked it better than Das Boot, but I've done Das Boot before and new canyons (or new sections of them) always get me excited. Saturday wind was brutal on those ledges getting to the head of upper left, but once in the canyon it was pretty nice. We were glad to have full 7mm wetsuits. We also played around with a wood fiddlestick and a PVC version. Wood was fine till wet like Tom mentioned (It didn't have any resin coating or anything like Kurt said he has on his) and the PVC worked great in all conditions. It was a super nice option to have. :cool2:

Cool. a good canyon (section) when the water quality is up.
