I'm a newbie to this site and looking for some excellent info I'm sure exists on this site.
Ill be in ID in mid July for 2-3 weeks, with the last week on a Salmon R trip. Would like to get into the backcountry prior to the river trip and hear the Sawtooths are worth checking out. I'm thinking about a couple of 3-4 day trips to maximize my opportunities, but truly seeking advice.
Someone told me about Grandjean as a starting point with excellent trails accessible from there. Also, can I ship gear to a Post Office anywhere close, rather than carry on a plane?
