Hiked the lower portion of Box Elder 44 out of Granite Flat today. Trail is steep and "less used" than a lot in the AF canyon. Started snowing around 7500 ft. I turned around at 8655 with the trail turning to snot as steady snow fell. Getting back down was almost as slow as getting up, lots of slick steep sections of trail. 44 is nice, you don't run into many people and it doesn't fool around with lots of switchbacks and such... just climbs steady towards the south pass of Box Elder. With the snowy conditions, light was really nice for spring aspen growth, attached a couple of pics here. 544695447054471
