A newbie from upstate NY here. I am originally from the Czech Republic but have lived in the US Northeast for 20 years. I have always been fascinated by the American West. Karl May from Germany and his books and Vinnetou movies are probably among those to blame for this addiction :)

In June 1993, as a college student I made my first trip to the Southwest. We drove an old three-door Toyota Tercell without power steering or AC from upstate NY to California and back in 28 days. I guess, you can tell you are getting older when you look back at what you did when you were young and ... just do not understand ...

I use every opportunity to come back and visit all the beautiful places in Utah, Arizona, California, ... Recently, I made a trip to the Arizona Strip that I will post soon with lots of pictures. This place is so AWESOME that it defies description but I will try.

Anyway, this is me and I am happy to join this forum and share my experience with others. Reading road trips here helped me better prepare for my trips and I will gladly give back.

J.

Very cool! Welcome!

I love the AZ strip too. I have lived there many days during the summer as a Wildland firefighter. Probably got to see more terrain and untouched areas then 99.9% of the population.

I'm anxious to read your TR - especially if you made it to the Mt Trumbull area.
