Clients spending "several days" at the South Col waiting for a break in the weather...150 people over two days jamming the route...I'm surprised there weren't MORE casualties! Imagine the toll if the wx had suddenly crapped out. :eek2:

I'll stick with my mountain states peakbagging...much more fun than spending my life's savings to get caught up in some mess like that. JMHO.

Well-known expedition organizer Russell Brice cited the mountain's precarious condition in his decision in early May to cancel this year's climb for more than 60 clients.

The climber from Utah http://www.bogley.com/forum/showthread.php?62982-Everest-Summit-Attempt-Blog-Greg-on-Top-of-the-World was part of the Russell Brice expedition that was cancelled.

He has an entry on his blog that details what led to them cancelling. Sounds as though it was a smart decision.
