Just curious if anyone has been in the Northeast Spur Fork recently and might be able to update as to the conditions. I'm curious if there's any water in it or is it a walk right now? Also, what are the anchors like for the eighty foot rappel at the end of the canyon?

Thanks for the info,
Ryan Cary

Also, is it possible to backtrack out of the Corkscrew area without doing the eighty foot rappel below that section? Could you leave some lines fixed and jug back out? If so how many ropes would be needed and how difficult would you think this would be? Would it be easier to just go all the way down past the free rappel?

Once again, thanks for the info!

I haven't been down there for a couple years, but I can say that the rappel is really easy and also really fun. There are tons of available anchors, so even if the current anchor is in bad shape, you just need some webbing and you can set a new one easy. After that the exit isn't too bad at all, just some minor scrambling. :2thumbs:

Having 2 cars is great...It is a little bit of a hike back out to your car. I would say 4-5 miles from the bottom of the last rappel to where your car is parked at the intersection...Not bad if you are up for a stroll.

Awesome! Sounds like a great time. We'll see if the trip pans out or not. Thanks for the info.
