What say it true? plastic piston tops in the forks?

When the owner of Fineline suspension called me and said the plastic pistons in both front forks were broke I about fell of my chair.

Good hell yamy lets just make the hole dam fork out of plastic to save some wieght.

My nephews 09 YZ450 did the same thing. I took mine apart to check and they were fine, that was a year ago... :ne_nau:

what did you get instead?

Replaced with allu. alloy. The owner at Fineline was telling me that the new KLX 450 not only has the plastic buffer but the pc it hits is plastic too.
Funny the dealers don't mention these things while they sell the new and lightest story.

But it has been a great learning process at great cost.

Ya Fourty my neighbors brother has his own track in cali and is good friends with Troy Lee I guess and said he's had the same thing with the same bike but only on one side.:ne_nau:
He sold it at the same time I bought yours but is now on a 2010 FI version. And yes he still has his 250 2-t as well. He only rides track and I guess he gets visits in the winter by the big boys from time to time.
Might just have to try his track out right after SX and before the nationals.HEHE
