Stuck on dry land until May so its that time of year again to watch far too many videos. This one is new to me and the title is dead on.

The river bug has definitely hit and I now seem to have tourrettes. I catch my self yelling "pull" and "square up" at randoms times during the day:haha:

Wild to see how different Lava is with a few extra thousand cfs. We had 19-20k in Jan 2010 and all took the right line through the V-Wave. One thing I can say is I will never find myself in the middle, doing wimpy pushes like that red boat. Hell no.

I get to see the Selway for the first time this year (hopefully not the last) so I am in the process of scaring myself something wicked.

Luckily it won't be anything like this the week of July 4. Excited to be on the oars the entire way!

Enjoy the Selway:2thumbs: one kickass river. The upside down rafts in the beginning of the vidio were a common sight on my one trip down. Have fun:haha:

What time of year did you float? Snowpack is looking pleasant up there just hope they don't get too many rain on snow events that decimate the summer stash.

We launched the day before the permit season started. June 14th? The pass had opened early and there were a bunch of people running it.

The water level wasn't too bad when we launched I don't remember the exact level but it came up fast after we launched.
The last two days we were looking at flower blossoms under two feet of water in some of the eddies and chunks of snow floating in the river.
I think out of 6 boats 2 survived the trip right side up the whole way.:lol8:

I'll hope for better odds!

Most of the hydrographs for the week we launch are well below 4ft. Hoping to hit it above 2.5ft. My friend has been down 9 times (8 on the oars) and says that can be a fun level. Just enough water to get you through the section above Moose Creek without too much rock-dogging and fun, technical lines in the Juice.
