XIANGTAN, China -- Holy... cow...!
This is one of those videos that makes your brain freeze for a moment and forget everything else going on around you.
You forget how to blink as you stare and try to comprehend what you just witnessed.
A father in China, with his two young kids at his side, wander into the middle of the street with innocent intentions on setting off and enjoying fireworks.
The three stopped and gathered around a manhole, where the father bent down to light the fireworks and entertain his children.
But, in the blink of an eye... an explosion (http://youtu.be/XIBeiwfwkmY?rel=0).
The light ignited some gas emitting from the manhole and shot the cover three stories into the air, before slamming into a neighboring building.
The two kids wobbled, but incredibly stayed upright as their father was thrown several feet back.
In fact, the explosion ripped apart the man's jacket, but besides some bumps and bruises was apparently okay.
It is so intense, it looks like a made-for-TV explosion you'd see in "Burn Notice" (http://youtu.be/PXcHWxXCawg?rel=0) or any of the "Lethal Weapon" (http://youtu.be/7cpig7OhI98?rel=0) movies.
It is incredible. And talk about a great fireworks safety video. In the same vein as the "Red Asphalt" movie I had to watch in Drivers Ed.
