Because I don't have any photos, I won't post a lengthy TR. Anyway:

Just got back from climbing Boreas Mountain (13,082') with my 9 year old son Kessler. Also climbed Madonna Dome (12,331') with Kessler and my wife (our seven year old daughter Shaylee stayed down at Boreas Pass/Scetion House, which was challenging enough for her).

Anyway, we had an estimated 40-50 mph winds, with a few gust around 60 (strong enough that we had to lie down in the tiny rock shelter at the summit rather than could stand very long). Cold and windy, but not too extreme for January at 13K.

It was a test run of Kessler's equipment before attempting some winter 14ers coming up. He's stoked and I think we're ready to try some really soon.

It was a beautiful trip and from the summit we could see all the way to Pikes Peak on the east, Quandary, Lincoln, Bross, and all the Tenmile Range on the west, all the way to the Crestones on the South and all the way to the Gore Range on the north.

The bad news is that we left the camera at home and I am kicking myself for that. We had some really nice climbs.
