But yeah, easy to switch off at the bottom of the page, change to the default style. It's going to be very temporary, more feedback is welcome. If it turns out the majority is just really bugged by it, we'll make it the non default.

Hate it! Too many sites I frequent have the flakes falling. Cheesy and distracts. I just refreshed and they're no longer "falling" here.

Edited to add: Nope. Still falling, but only at the top half of the site.

Just a note, the rate of falling snow is directly related to your computer performance, not internet speed :cool2:

We've had our fun for 2 weeks, but we've set the default style back to the original. On older machines with older hardware, the javascript runs a little slower, making the site appear to load slower.

The Snowstorm is still an option though down at the bottom. You can switch this at anytime, I imagine we'll keep it available through the winter. The switch sticks to the computer you're on, I don't think it follows your account to different machines, so you'll have to switch on those machines as well.

Just scroll down to the red bar from any page and make the switch:
